Ohio Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio women's soccer team has once again been awarded the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2016-17 school year.

The Bobcats earned a 3.43 team grade point average.

This is the seventh-straight year that the Bobcats have earned the honor, and the fifth time under current head coach, Aaron Rodgers.

A total of 825 soccer teams (286 men, 539 women) from throughout the United States have earned the USC Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2016-17 academic year.

To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.

The Bobcats return to action on Sunday, Oct. 8 when they head to Akron to take on the Zips at 1 p.m.
