ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's basketball team returns to action on Monday, Nov. 12, when the Bobcats host Campbell in the opening game of the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Convocation Center. 

Monday's game will be streamed live on WatchESPN and the ESPN app, with Marty Bannister and Toni Roesch on the call. The contest will also be broadcast on the Ohio IMG Sports Network, with 'Voice of the Bobcats' Russ Eisenstein and Rob Cornelius on the call. Radio pregame coverage is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET with 'Countdown To Tipoff.'

The Bobcats are coming off of a 97-61 season-opening victory over Wilberforce on Wednesday, Nov. 7 inside the Convocation Center. 

In that matchup, Jason Carter picked up his first double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and adding 13 rebounds, while Teyvion Kirk also finished the game with 17 points. Ben Vander Plas went 6-of-8 from the field to finish with 16 points and added eight rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes. Jason Preston went 5-of-8 from the field for 10 points and chipped in five rebounds, two assists and a game-high three steals in 25 minutes for his Bobcat debut. Doug Taylor added 11 rebounds and a game-high four blocks alongside six points in 23 minutes of work.

Ohio finished the game with a 49 percent (39-of-80) field goal percentage and 56 total rebounds compared to Wilberforce who finished the game with a 40 percent (25-of-62) field goal percentage and 25 total rebounds. Ohio registered 21 total assists to Wilberforce's 10 and scored 66 points in the paint compared to 30 points in the paint for the Bulldogs.

The Bobcats enter the matchup with Campbell with an overall record of 1-0. 

After one game, Ohio is averaging 97.0 points per game and 56.0 rebounds per contest. Ohio is also averaging 21.0 assists, 8.0 steals and 6.0 blocks per game. The Bobcats are shooting .488 from the field .250 from beyond the arc and .684 from the free throw line. 

Individually, Carter and Kirk are both averaging 17.0 points per game, while Carter adds 13.0 rebounds a game and Kirk is averaging 3.0 steals per contest. 

Vander Plas is averaging 16.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting .750 from the field. Jason Preston is also averaging double figures, scoring 10.0 points per game. 

The Camels are currently 1-1 overall, defeating UNCW, 97-93 in their season opener, before falling to Costal Carolina, 85-75 on Nov. 9. 

Campbell is averaging 86.0 points per game while averaging 31.0 rebounds. The Camels are shooting .452 from the field, .311 from three-point range and .661 from the free throw line. They are also averaging 17.0 assists and 9.5 steals per contest, while adding 3.0 blocks per game. 

Individually, Campbell is led by Chris Clemons, who is averaging 35.5 points per game, shooting .474 from the field, .280 from three-point range and .848 from the free throw line. Clemons is also averaging 6.5 rebounds per game and grabbing seven steals. 

Isaac Chatman is averaging 14.0 points per game and 5.0 rebounds, while Andrew Eudy is averaging 13.0 points and leading the team with 7,0 rebounds per contest. 

Campbell is coming off of a 85-75 loss at the hands of Costal Carolina on Nov. 9. 

Chris Clemons led the Camels with 27 points, including 14-of-17 from the line. Freshman Isaac Chatman added 16 points on 6-of-11 from the field, while Ja'Cor Nelson and Trey Spencer contributed 10 each.

The Camels shot 44 percent from the field (24-54), but only made 6-of-28 (.214) threes and 60 percent of their foul shots (21-35).  Campbell trailed by only three at the break (38-35) despite hitting just 8-of-18 from the line and the visitors shooting 61 percent (14-23) from the floor in the opening half.

Clemons extended his double-figure scoring streak to 84 games, the longest active stretch in the country, and seventh-longest in NCAA Division I history – one more than both "Pistol" Pete Maravich of LSU (1967-70) and Wayman Tisdale of Oklahoma (1982-85) compiled.

This is the first meeting between the Bobcats and Campbell. 

The Bobcats have already reached the 90-point mark in 2018-19.  Ohio is 15-2 when scoring at least 90 points under Phillips.

In 2017-18 Ohio scored at least 90 points six times. 

The Bobcats return seven from last season, including guard Teyvion Kirk who garnered MAC All-Freshman Team honors in 2017-18, as well as led the Bobcats in points per game (15.3) and steals (42).

Senior forward Doug Taylor and guard/forward Gavin Block (Lincoln, Ill.) will also be back for the Bobcats. Taylor led the squad last season with 61 blocks and 7.1 rebounds per game, while Block added 8.5 points and a team-leading 106 assists. 

Senior guard Jordan Dartis (Newark, Ohio) – an All-MAC Honorable Mention selection each of the past two seasons- and redshirt junior guard James Gollon (Stevens Point, Wis.) will also return to the Convo floor this season. Dartis averaged 13.1 points for Ohio during the 2017-18 season, while leading the Bobcats with 78 three-pointers made, while Gollon led the Bobcats at the charity stripe, shooting 87 percent from the free throw line.

Bobcat fans will also see nine new faces on the court this season, with transfers Connor Murrell (Sioux City, Iowa), Jarrell Reeves (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and Antonio Cowart, Jr., and freshmen Jason Preston (Orlando, Fla.), Nate Springs (Charlotte, N.C.), Torey James (Hickory, N.C.), John Tenerowicz (Cleveland, Ohio), Chris McGraw (Columbus, Ohio) and Mason McMurray (Stow, Ohio) seeing court time for Ohio in their first season with the Green and White.

The Bobcats won their won season opener for the 15th year in a row with the victory over Wilberforce.

Ohio enters its fifth season under the direction of Phillips in 2018-19. Phillips has led the Bobcats to 68 wins over the past four-plus seasons. He coached his 100th game on the Ohio bench in the quadruple overtime triumph over Indiana State in the Charleston Classic.

Phillips, who served seven years as the head coach at North Dakota State before coming to Athens, reached the 200-career win mark with the victory over Bowling Green.

The Bobcats head to Montego Bay, Jamaica to take part in the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic. The Bobcats will take on South Florida on Friday, Nov. 16 at 4:30 p.m., before taking on Loyola Marymount on Nov. 18 at 4:30 p.m. Fans can catch both games on CBS Sports Network.
