Katie Yun and Michaela Dorsey would lead the way for Ohio, both registering three hits, two RBI and a homerun each in the victory.

In the first game, the Bobcats defeated Delaware State (0-5), 12-4, in five innings, and then returned later in the afternoon to defeat Wagner (0-1), 8-5, in nine innings.

Losing a doubleheader in the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship — which eliminated Ohio from NCAA Tournament contention — will leave any team sour. But coach Jodi Hermanek, in her tenth year at Ohio, has dealt with losses in conference championship games in the past. Her softball team’s have always gone right back to work, reloaded with another strong class of freshmen and mentally made sure the losses were put in the past.

Under tenth-year head coach Jodi Hermanek, the Ohio softball team will open the 45th season of Bobcat softball when they travel to Madeira Beach, Fla. to participate in the Madeira Beach Invitational, Feb. 16-18. While there the Bobcats will play five games in three days with matchups against Virginia, UNCG, Lipscomb, UMass and Jacksonville State.
The Ohio Softball team has announced two dates for the annual January Jingle Camp. The camps will take place January 14 and January 21 at Walter Fieldhouse. The camps are open to girls from 7th-12th grade.
The Ohio softball program has released its 2018 schedule, head coach Jodi Hermanek announced today (Nov. 20). The schedule includes seven teams from last year’s NCAA Tournament, including Big 12 opponent Baylor, who played in the Women’s College World Series last season. The schedule also includes three teams out of the ACC, two out of the A10, and one out of the SEC. The Bobcats’ season includes nonconference matchups against Virginia, NC State, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, and Dayton.
The Ohio softball program has added right handed pitcher Mackensie Kohl to the 2018-19 signing class, head coach Jodi Hermanek announced today (Nov. 15). The addition of Kohl brings the signing class to four.
The Ohio softball team will begin its fall season this weekend, starting Saturday, Sept. 23 as the Bobcats host a doubleheader with the Thundering Herd of Marshall. First pitch is set for Noon at the Ohio Softball Field. Ohio will then conclude the weekend facing Ohio Dominican and Ohio Valley on Sunday, Sept. 24. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at the OSF.
