Ohio women’s basketball freshman guard Cierra Hooks was named the 2018 Mid-American Conference Freshman of the year, the league announced today. Hooks also earned a spot on the All-MAC Third Team, the All-Defensive Team and the All-Freshman Team. Fellow freshman Gabby Burris was also named to the All-Freshman Team.
Head coach Bob Boldon earned his 100th win at Ohio as the fifth-seeded Ohio women’s basketball team (16-14) began the post season, claiming an 85-73 victory over Mid-American Conference East foe No. 12 Akron (9-21) Monday evening inside the Convocation Center. The Bobcats will now advance to the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament for the third-straight year.
