Ohio Diving Concludes Buffalo Diving Invite

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Ohio divers return home from the three-day University at Buffalo Diving Invite (Jan. 11-13) where the Bobcats picked up a third-place finish in the women's team awards, fifth-place overall, with 59 total points.

The meet kicked off on Friday (Jan. 11) with the one-meter dive. In the preliminary round, redshirt junior Olivia Dillon (Newcastle, Aus.) scored 265.85 to place first while senior Nicole Hughes (Cleveland, Ohio) placed 9th with a score of 243.65 followed closely behind by freshman Taylor Miller (Latrobe, Pa.) who placed 10th with a score of 229.40. Sophomore Abigail Jordan (West Chester, Ohio) registered 132.40 points for a 21st place finish. Dillon went on to win the one-meter dive finals with a score of 264.50.

The divers finished day two of the meet competing in the three-meter dive. Miller scored 240.70 to place sixth in the preliminary round and finished eighth in the championships with a score of 229.15. Hughes, Dillon and Jordan finished with scores of 232.55, 210.00, 171.25 respectively in the preliminary rounds.

The divers plan to travel to Toledo, Ohio to compete with the rest of the team in a meet against Mid-American Conference foe, Toledo this Friday (Jan. 18). The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
