AKRON, Ohio -- Junior Abby Moore (Rootstown, Ohio) turned in a second-place finish in the weight throw for the Ohio track & field team on the opening day of the 2020 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which are being held at the University of Akron's Stile Athletics Field House.
Moore provided the Bobcats with eight team points as she earned a silver medal with a toss of 19.86 meters to set a new personal best.
Senior Ashleigh Kitrell (Oakland, Neb.) qualified for the finals of the 800-meter run, setting a school record with a 2:10.29 to finish seventh in the prelims.

In the pentathlon, senior Tajah Haley (Washington, Pa.) won the shot put portion of the multi-event with a toss of 12.25 meters. She finished 13th overall with 3,328 points.

The final day of the 2020 MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships gets underway Saturday (Feb. 29) with field events beginning at 1 p.m. ET and the start of running events slated for 1:25 p.m. ET. The conference championships are being broadcast on ESPN3 (running events) and the Zips Digital Network (field events). Field events shown on the Zips Digital Network will only be available to viewers in the MAC's Digital Footprint (ie: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and New York).
